Day 180 Of Chibok Girls’ Abduction: BBOG Doubts Rescue Mission

As it clocked 180 days of the Chibok girls’ abduction by the Boko Haram sect on April 14, 2014, the #BringBackOurGirls (BBOG) group has expressed doubts about the rescue of the girls.

Speaking during its special sit-out, the group stated that there appeared many narratives in the media about the rescue mission of the government and wondered why after 180 days, the girls were still languishing in the hands of their abductors.
It is really sad. As we remember the UN International Day of the Girl, we remembered the Chibok girls and the nonchalant and indifference that followed the abduction we are still experiencing as they are not yet back. Women in the world are being raped, sacrificed and have always experienced all kinds of hardships. The Chibok girls incident is the greatest sacrifice in Nigeria and up until now, no one can tell of their whereabouts” it said.
Speaking on behalf of the Chibok community, one of its natives, Dr Allen Manessah, expressed gratitude to the group for not abandoning the advocacy for the return of the girls. Also during the event, the group observed a candlelight in solidarity with its movement and unveiled its new logo, which it said will help in the continuance of advocacy for the rescue of the abducted girls.
Unveiling and explaining the colours of the logo, one of the leaders of the group, Saudatu Mahdi, explained that the logo comes with the colour white and red, adding that unlike the old logo, the new one carries the information, #Bring Back Our Girls Now!.
” The colour white and red are important colours in the spectro of light. White is the oppposite of black.”
