Pimps tattooed their names onto prostitutes' bodies

A gang of Polish pimps who tattooed their names on prostitutes’ bodies to mark them as their property have been arrested by police.
Eight women were found branded with the permanent skin ink during a raid on the gang’s illegal brothel in Gdansk, a city in north-eastern Poland.
Women had reportedly been selected for the process to reward them for their loyalty and good service, according to the Polish police.
One was found with the words: "Faithful B*** of Leszek" tattooed down the side of her body.

Another had: "I love my Lord and Master, property of Leszek" scrawled down the length of her leg.
And one of the eight women was found with the Bryan Adams song Please Forgive Me scrawled across her back in gothic-style handwriting, with the name of her 'owner' underneath.
Police arrested the alleged gang leaders, three brothers Leszek Baranowski, 26, Pawel, 34, and Olek, 31, along with 21 other men who they claim pimped out 70 girls in total and earned over £1million off them over the course of four years.
The eight tattooed women were found amongst a host of others who were also sharing the brothel.

Most of the women were forced into working as prostitutes, although police say some did it voluntarily.
In their defence, the gang told police all the girls who had been tattooed had willingly got involved in the game and had volunteered to have the ink as a "sign of loyalty".
Prosecutor spokesman Mariusz Marciniak confirmed: "Many of the women they were using were forced into the business but at the moment we don't have any evidence that those that were tattooed were forced to undergo the procedure under duress."
