POLICE investigating the death of the Nigerian younger Olamide Fasina who was murdered by a gang of five in Thamesmead in southeast London have carried out one arrest in connection with the killing.
In a callous murder, Mr Fasina and two friends were attacked by a gang of five youths just yards from his home in Thamesmead on Tuesday October 14. He was chased by a gang of armed men into an alleyway off Wolvercote Road on Thamesmead's Tavy Bridge estate on Tuesday before being stabbed in the heart and left to die.
Witnesses described his attackers as carrying an eight-inch blade and a hacksaw, saying he was crawling for help after the attack which may have been sparked by a £400 debt. Since the murder, the police have appealed for witnesses to come forward with any information they have that could lead to the arrest of the perpetuators.
As part of this continued programme to reach out to the community, the police are planning a local Christmas get-together with the local community in early December. They are hoping to bring together the various community groups, schools and local businesses in a get-together that will involve carol singing, a raffle draw and a Christmas feast.
