A man, Ikechukwu Desmond Okwonkwo, has been arrested by the Nasarawa state police for allegedly raping three of his daughters.
The man was paraded on Friday, 25 October, while the Police Commissioner, Usman Yakubu, was addressing journalists at the state Criminal Investigation Department on the successes recorded by his Command between September and October 2014, in Nasarawa state.
According to the Commissioner, the suspect’s wife reported the matter to the police, that the girls were in their father’s custody when he committed the crime.
He said, “We have recorded activities of scrupulous elements who are in the habit of raping innocent minors. Notable among them is one Ikechukwu Demond Okwonkwo who has been having carnal knowledge of his three daughters. This revelation was made known to the police by his wife.”
Th Commissioner added that the victims accounts reflected their mothers testimony that their father had sexual intercourse with them.
Mr. Yakubu, however, failed to disclose the ages of the three girls, and also when Okonkwo would be charged to court.
