A 20-year-old Milwaukee man has been charged with the rape of a 101-year-old woman.
In September, the intruder,Antoine Devon Pettis, allegedly broke into the victim’s house in the middle of the night, which startled her awake to check the noise. When she confronted Pettis, he told her to “shut up” and slapped her in the face.
According to the criminal court documents, Pettis then grabbed the woman’s wrists, turned her on her stomach and raped her. The attacker left soon after, which is when the victim ran to the door and yelled for help.
When police arrived at the scene, the woman’s face was bleeding. Blood stains were also found on her legs and bottom.
Pettis is also being charged with burglary, aggravated battery and second-degree assault, which could earn him up to 25 years in prison.
Officers believe the young man entered the home looking to rob the place but when he saw the woman, he panicked and assaulted her, which is why he didn’t wear a condom and, ultimately, his DNA was left as evidence.
Pettis is being held in the Milwaukee County Jail.
