So last night, the much talked about Future Awards held in Lagos and it was star studded.
Dakore Egbuson-Akande was so sweet and friendly towards everyone on the red carpet, unlike Omotola Ekeinde who was kinda acting cold - it's not her fault though, heard she had some leg injury so we guess that explains the cold attitude but yea, she gave a beautiful speech during the awards.
Mocheddah is beautiful, plus she was cool with the students that approached her for autographs, she had a smile for everyone.
Oh by the way, OC Ukeje has got an ah-mazing voice, wow. His rendition of the national anthem with Waje was out of this world.
Memorable highlights of the night include an electrifying set by Asa, performing songs from her new album, ‘Bed of Stone’ in Nigeria for the first time. Of note also was the #STOPEBOLA auction to raise money for the United Nations Ebola Response Fund, the final leg of TFAA #STOPEBOLA campaign. A bespoke dress by Lanre Da Silva Ajayi was the auction item and it was sold for N1M naira, bought by Nigeria’s foremost blogger Linda Ikeji.
Anyway, that aside, here's the main gist:
Derenle Edun just couldn't get enough of taking pictures last night. Yea, we understand that he is a playful media personality, he is fun to be with et al but he didn't stop taking selfies with everybody yesterday. At some point, fans who were hanging around to take photos with their favorite celebrities were saying to each other 'The other ones are not nice jor, just go and stand beside Denrele and tap him, he will answer you and snap with you sharp sharp"
He was outside all through the event and went in just once or twice.
See some of the selfies we were able to capture and also see photos from the future awards below:
High profile guests in attendance at the event were Minister of Youth Development, Boni Haruna representing President Goodluck Jonathan, Governor Rotimi Amaechi, Professor Pat Utomi, former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Odein Ajumogobia, CEO Sahara Group, Tonye Cole, Senator Femi Gbajabiamila, Mr. Jimi Agbaje, Lanre Da Silva Ajayi, Daniel Amokachi, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Funke Akindele, Dakore Akande, Timi Dakolo, Toke Makinwa, Toolz, Uti Nwachukwu, Dotun of COOL FM, to name a few.
