Nigeriafilms.com has been informed that the Governor of Delta State, Emmanuel Uduaghan has promised to ensure that the killers of Nollywood actor, Clems Onyeka, who was shot dead in a gun battle between armed robbers and the police in Asaba some days ago, would be brought to book.
This information was divulged to us by the Lagos State Chairman of Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Victor Osuagwu, in an exclusive interview.
The comic actor told Nigeriafilms.com in the interview that the apart from informing the state governor of the incident, the police authorities have also been told about it and they have vowed to bring the late actor’s killers to justice.
“I want to tell you that it was a sad incident to Nollywood when we heard the news and immediately, we made reports to the Inspector General of Police and the state governor and he (the governor) promised that he would do everything possible to fish out the culprits.
“We believe the governor because Uduaghan is a trusted person. He is passionate about the Nigerian entertainment industry. We believe he will do as promised,” Osuagwu toldNigeriafilms.com.
Meanwhile, the police in Delta State have made some arrests regarding the murder. According to reports, six suspects have are already in police custody in connection with the incident.
It was reported that family of the late actor is planning to go fetish in seeking justice for the deceased, while the police in Delta State have appealed to them to exercise patience, promising that the criminals would be apprehended and made to face prosecution.
According to reports, the Police public relations officer in the state, DSP Celestina Kalu, maintained that the actor was killed by a stray bullet despite the family claiming there was a foul play in the murder.
