Tragedy struck at the Jos University Teaching Hospital In Laminga, Jos, as a private security personnel attached to the hospital was shot dedd by unknown gunmen at his duty post at the hospital yesterday.
LEADERSHIP investigation revealed that the development created panic at the hospital early yesterday morning as gunmen, trying to force their way through the rear gate of the hospital, shot the security man when he discovered arms in their car boot.
The security man died while receiving treatment in the hospital while the gunmen escaped. Their mission was not clear.
The Police Public Relations officer, DSP Abu Emmanuel, while confirming the development to our correspondent in Jos, said, “The Police commissioner, Nasiru Oki has deployed security personnel to the hospital following the incident.
“Efforts are in top gear to ensure that the perpetrators of the act are brought to book “.
He appealed to citizens of the state to remain calm as the police were out to ensure the safety of its citizens.
