The man killed after a crash involving a car being chased by police on Thursday night was 18-year-old Conal Daly from Belfast.
Police had been pursuing a Jaguar car, which then collided with a Volkswagen on the Saintfield Road, near Carryduff.
Mr Daly is believed to have been a passenger in the Jaguar.
It is understood the woman driving the Volkswagen is a nun. She and two men from the Jaguar remain in hospital. One is critically ill and two are stable.
The crash happened at about 20:40 BST. The circumstances surrounding the police chase are being investigated by the police ombudsman.
It is understood the woman driving the Volkswagen is aged in her 70s.
A spokesman for the police ombudsman said: "We would be keen to speak to anyone who saw the collision or the pursuit leading up to it.
"We understand the pursuit began close to the roundabout at the junction of the Ravenhill Road and Ormeau Road in Belfast."
The Saintfield Road was closed overnight between Manse Road and Ivanhoe Avenue, while investigators from the ombudsman's office examined the scene.
The road has since reopened.
