A federal judge in Alabama threw the book at a local Lauderdale Couple for sexually abusing a child and producing child pornography. WAFF said Matthew Ayers, 42, and Patricia Ayers, 34, are both responsible for the sexual abuse of a child in their custody and of taking pictures of the behavior with the intent to manufacture child porn.
U.S. District Judge L. Scott Coogler said, “I have been on the bench since 1998, and this is the worst case I have personally dealt with, including murders. You robbed this child of her childhood and her soul, and a maximum sentence is the only sentence appropriate.”
Judge Coogler felt the sentence he issued was more than appropriate. After Patricia Ayers, according to WAFF, pled guilty to 53 counts of producing child pornography and Matthew Ayers pleaded to 25 counts of production – the judge issued more than 1,500 years behind bars. Actually, the number is 1,590 for Patricia and 750 years in prison for Matthew Ayers to be exact.
AL.com said the victim was between the age of six and nine.
WAFF said, “In their plea agreements both Ayers acknowledged they took photographs of the child engaged in lewd and lascivious poses, and that they each engaged in sexual acts with the child that the other adult photographed.” Patricia Ayers also admitted to sending those images of the victim in an e-mail to a man in Texas and she offered to bring the child there so he could have sex with her, the report continued.
The case for both Ayers isn’t over either, WAFF said they will both still have to face state child pornography, rape and sexual abuse charges.
