The incident happened in Eyre Place
A man has been arrested following an alleged sex attack on a woman in Edinburgh.
Police said a suspect aged 35 was being held in connection with the attempted rape of a 21-year-old near Smithies pub in Eyre Place.
He is expected to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Friday.
The victim was said to have been subjected to a serious sexual assault at about 04:00 on 8 October.
